Rainbow was amazing live band in the 70's and you can really hear the invidual talent of every member and i mean lot of them! Thats why almost every song is over 10 minutes long. Let's start with the tracklist. This album has very solid track listing, with lot of live stables back then like "Catch the Rainbow", "Kill the King" and "Man on the Silver Mountain"

Live in Germany 1976 is a live album released by Rainbow in 1990. The tracks are cherry-picked from a series of German dates during their world tour in September 1976 (Cologne on the 25th, Düsseldorf on the 27th, Nuremberg on the 28th, and Munich on the 29th). It was re-released two years later in the USA as Live in Europe on a different label. The content is the same for both although sleeve notes differ.

The 35th anniversary reissue of 'Live in Germany 1976' - an unsung companion piece to the band's better known 1977 double concert album 'On Stage' - showcases guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, singer Ronnie James Dio, keyboard player Tony Carey, bassist Jimmy Bain and drummer Cozy Powell nearing their creative peak. Album opener 'Kill The King' explodes with compact muscularity and clocks in at 5:30, the shortest cut on the affair. From there, both the strengths and weaknesses of 'Live in Germany' are glaringly apparent. Live in Germany' offers only two songs above and beyond what you can find on 'On Stage. But those two alone - the epic 'Stargazer' and the more straightforward 'Do You Close Your Eyes' - make this a worthy listen. Carey's extended keyboard solo during the intro to 'Stargazer' nearly rivals any of Blackmore's amazing fret-board wizardry.

Rising (also known as Rainbow Rising) is the second studio album by the British rock band Rainbow, released in 1976. In issue 4 of Kerrang! magazine (cover-dated October 1981), Rising was voted the greatest heavy metal album of all time. In 2017, it was ranked 48th at Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time".

Live in Germany 1976 is a live album released by Rainbow in 1990. The tracks are cherry-picked from a series of German dates (Cologne on 25-9-76, Düsseldorf 27-9-76 Nuremberg 28-9-76 and Munich 29-9-76) recorded on the world tour in 1976.

If you have ever heard or seen Rainbow play live you know how this is album is going to be , lot of solos.. and i mean lot of them! This album has very solid track listing, with lot of live stables back then like "Catch the Rainbow" , "Kill the King" and "Man on the Silver Mountain". "Misstreated" is also brought in to the setlist from Blackmore's Deep Purple Days. Probably the most interesting song on here is the amazing "Stargazer", as albums like "Rainbow On Stage" were strangely missing this fan favourite.Band plays amazingly as you would guess and the sound quality is decent, but Cozy Powell's drums are quite low on the mix, which really sucks. But overall this album is really solid! Good tracklisting, amazing band and amazing performance. I do prefer this cd over "Rainbow On Stage" just because this one has "Stargazer".

i bought this 2 lp set when this came out back in 1990 (wow 25 years ago already) for that time when vinyl seemed to be a thing of the past ( or most people thought so) the 2 discs sound awesome here, i loved everything about this release from the nice laminated sleeve with the great live shot down to the nice gatefold it came in, this was hard to get for a while i was told but i see it here on discogs and i see a few copies here at fair prices, if you loved rainbow id grab this one as this was a monster live show from 76...
